Full of How-To's & Real-life Application

This book is what I call practical! While Mr. Copeland works all the theory and high-level info you might want into a book about a classical education method, he uses conversational dialogue samples and reproducible checklists, etc. to give you tangible real-life help in running a Socratic circle in your classroom. The focus on assessment caught me off-guard. However, in our "everyone-gets-a-ribbon-JUST-for-participating" culture, learning to give and receive real feedback is a necessary life skill, one that many of our modern students don't have the opportunity to learn. I highly recommend this book.

Good but not great strategy

I'm enjoying the read so far, but the author raises several potential issues one might encounter (like a kid who won't participate), without satisfactory solutions. If this strategy is as effective as the author frequently boasts it is, I would expect some more concrete answers.
