About the Author

Michael Fairley has been writing and speaking about label and packaging materials, technology and applications since the 1970s, both as the founder of Labels & Labeling and other print industry magazine titles and as an international consultant writing label industry market and technology research reports for the likes of Frost & Sullivan, Economist Intelligence Unit, Pira, InfoTrends and Labels & Labelling Consultancy.

He now works as a consultant to Tarsus Exhibitions & Publishing - which organizes the Labelexpo shows, Label Summits and publishes Labels & Labeling magazine - as well as regularly speaking at industry conferences and seminars.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Packaging / Packaging Society, Fellow of IP3, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Stationers, an Honorary Life Member of FINAT and a Licentiate of the City & Guilds of London Institute. He was awarded the R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.

About AMAZON: the book arrived on time as advertised, and at a reasonable price. Can't ask for more!

About THE MEDIAN NERVE: I bought the book on the median sensory conduction techniques because I received with pleasure the other one on the motor conduction techniques for Christmas. I found both volumes the most comprehensive work on the subject, especially when compared with the other manuals on the market (Lee-DeLisa, Shapiro-Preston, Leis-Schenk, etc.) since all market volumes treat the subject in a marginal way, describing only the main techniques (a total of 3-5 sensory/motor NCS) used for the carpal tunnel syndrome diagnosis. In the Springer's works I appreciated the finest quality of the images which describes each technique, and normal and pathological traces in several pathological conditions (CTS, anterior interosseous nerve syndrome, etc.). A tremendous effort was made by the authors performing each method in normal and such pathological condition; they reporting a lot of tables with normal and pathological values, and adding both volumes may deepen over 100 techniques, divided by wide accepted practical criteria (orthodromic, antidromic, palm-wrist, comparative studies of the median-ulnar or median-radial techniques, etc.)! Although the book deal exclusively methods focused on the median nerve, I found it an invaluable tool and source of information, both in the remote and EMG lab sessions. Widely recommended!!! Mark

The Safest Key to Trauma Recovery

I felt a huge sense of relief just holding the book in my hands and after reading the first few pages knew that someone understood the complexities of healing from trauma! If only I had been more aware and had been taught early on in my trauma recovery to trust my own high level of intuitive feelings and common sense; had listened to my body sensations and seen those "stop" signs more clearly, I could have helped myself recover from trauma so much earlier. Instead I trusted some unhelpful "professionals" rather than trusting myself and endured more suffering and trauma as a result. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking help to recover from trauma and who wants to feel in-charge and empowered in their healing journey from trauma.

Fine resource for people with traumatic experience

I have two copies of "8 Keys" in my office to lend out to patients. One patient recently commented that it was easy to locate the sections that felt immediately resonant with his experience and skip past sections that didnt seem relevant. Other people will obviously make different selections. I like the book for its clear and accessible writing (Babette Rothschild's gift), and the balance between being of comfort + support and straightforward psychoeducation. I think the book is an excellent office resource for clinicians.

It's lots of fun to see a very well written story from the perspective of a dragon civilization rather than the usual human side of things. There are so many small details to that and the book handles them all really well, while at the same time matching an interesting, unpredictable plot with it. Very much worth the read!
